Run Into 100% Selves

2021

In a symmetrical, mirror-like space, the body’s shadow and its image co-constitute a set of asynchronous projection planes. A delayed image from the past walks toward the present self, while the viewer’s silhouette, moving in sync with their body, advances toward this delayed image.

Whichever side the viewer enters from, they encounter their own image as if meeting another. Multiple bodies meet, intersect, and merge at the center of the space—momentarily dissolving before separating again.

In contemporary modes of interaction, the boundary between self and other has gradually blurred. We encounter others through mediation—or perhaps what we encounter are only reflections of ourselves.

Come and meet your 100% selves.
